Oak Savanna Winds: Blue Lupine (The Laurie (Loucks) Burt Wildlife Sanctuary)

Oak Savanna Winds: Blue Lupine

Oak Savanna Winds: Blue Lupine—a 2026 labor of love filmed on the Laurie (Loucks') Burt Wildlife Sanctuary, my private NWF-certified haven in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Dedicated to my sister Laurie Sue Burt, this documentary/book captures our oak savanna's rebirth: blue lupine planted for endangered Karner blues, tiger swallowtails, skipper moths, silk moths, sphinx moths, mourning cloaks, fritillaries—and the hawks, owls, eagles passing through.

Sanctuary's Living Canvas

Over 50 tagged oaks (white, burr, swamp white) shelter woodland creatures amid native grasses, Deck Pond, Pool Pond, and new 2026 Willow Pond—born from an empty scar after forced pet exhumations due to court fraud, under Laurie's memorial willow (roots cut to reclaim them). Home to millions of insects, dragonflies, damselflies, and inspirations like my Hallowink Hollow™ series (25+ books), Courtly CottontailsToads of Telemark™Starlingo™ syndicated comics.

Self-funded by Loucks-Christenson Publishing bestsellers (Wolves of Whitewater Falls™, Bow Wow Detectives™, Don't Eat Bees!, more), it reveals how small changes ripple to feed thousands. For the launching Wildly Personable Show™—legacy in every reflection.
